Column Mapping Tips

  • HeyJack auto-detects common column names
  • Mark columns as "Skip" if you don't need them
  • You can map multiple columns to notes/description
  • Price columns should be numeric only (no $ or commas)

Handling Duplicates

If an item name already exists:

  • Skip - Keep existing, don't import
  • Update - Overwrite existing with new data
  • Create New - Add as separate item

Tip: Use "Update" when refreshing pricing from your supplier.

After Import

  • Review items for accuracy
  • Add missing categories or descriptions
  • Set up bundles/kits from imported components
  • Mark items as "Taxable" or "Non-taxable"

Common Issues

Prices importing wrong:

  • Remove currency symbols ($) from the file
  • Use period (.) not comma for decimals
  • Check for extra spaces

Categories not grouping:

  • Spelling must be exact ("HVAC" vs "hvac" creates separate categories)
  • Clean up in the pricebook after import
