Get from signup to your first sent proposal in under 30 minutes.
The Essential Setup Checklist
Focus on these four things first. Everything else can wait.
- Company Info - Your name, address, phone appear on proposals
- Logo - Makes proposals look professional
- Pricebook - At least 10-20 common items to start
- First Customer - Enter a real customer to send your first proposal
Step 1: Company Profile (5 minutes)
Go to Settings → Company and fill in:
- Company name
- Business address (appears on proposals)
- Phone number
- Email (customers reply here)
- License number (if required in your state)
Save, then click "Upload Logo" and add your logo image.
Step 2: Pricebook (10-15 minutes)
Your pricebook powers fast estimates. Three options:
Option A: Import existing (fastest if you have one)
- Go to Pricebook → Import
- Upload CSV or Excel file
- Map columns → Import
Option B: Start with template
- Go to Pricebook → Templates
- Choose HVAC or Plumbing starter template
- Edit prices to match your rates
Option C: Add manually
- Go to Pricebook → Add Item
- Enter name, price, category
- Start with your 10 most common items
Tip: You can always add more items later. Start small.
Step 3: Create Your First Estimate (5 minutes)
- Click "New Estimate" from dashboard
- Add a customer (or create new)
- Either describe the job for AI, or add items from pricebook
- Review totals and add any notes
- Click "Save"
Step 4: Send Your First Proposal (1 minute)
- From the estimate, click "Send"
- Choose email or text
- Add a personal message (optional)
- Click "Send Proposal"
Done! You'll be notified when they view and accept.
What to Do Next
Now that you've sent your first proposal, consider:
- Add team members - Settings → Team → Invite
- Set up payment processing - Settings → Payments → Connect Stripe
- Explore AI estimates - Describe a job and see what generates
- Set your defaults - Tax rates, payment terms, proposal validity
